The mission of the Evansville Police Department, in Partnership with the community, is to improve the quality of life by reducing the fear and incidence of crime, to recognize and resolve problems, and to fulfill the law enforcement needs of the citizens of Evansville, Indiana

The Evansville Police Department is in it's 144th year of operations serving an area of 41 square miles covering 575 miles of city streets.  The department is divided into five divisions: Administrative, Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Personnel and Records.  We have over 330 dedicated, professional and creative sworn and civilian personnel serving this community 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Evansville Police Officers are responsible for performing various duties related to the protection of life and property, enforcement of criminal and traffic laws, rendering of services, prevention of crime and preservation of the public peace.
